Christian Ford is a 3rd year ECE PhD student with research interests in BioMEMS. He obtained his BS in Electrical Engineering at NC A&T and recently obtained his MS in Bioengineering from Tech. He enjoys engaging with students and is looking forward to leveraging his various industry experiences to assist students’ development in their technical writing. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, playing basketball, and spending time tending to his balcony vegetable garden.

Yilun Chen

Yilun (Allen) Chen

BS/MS Student
Graduating Spring, 2022

Yilun Chen, or simply Allen, is a first-year MS student in ECE. He has worked with the Robotarium building robots, interned for Uber ATG where he built self-driving cars, and DRW Holdings where he built data infrastructure software for proprietary trading. In his free time, you can find Allen listening to audio books, playing computer games, building (and never finishing) a lot of personal projects, breaking and reassembling all kinds of electronics, and trading stocks. Allen takes all responsibilities seriously, and he expects the same from his students! He plans to leverage his professional experiences to hold in-depth consultations with students about career advice, resume writing, presentation skills and technical writing skills, and ultimately help everyone gain a head start in his/her/their careers, no matter in industry or in academia. He’ll commit 100% of his energy to make sure everyone walks out of this class feeling more confident communicating in a professional environment through all mediums.

Molly Emig

Molly Emig

BS/MS Student
Graduating Fall, 2021

Molly is working on her Masters in Electrical Engineering as a part of the BS/MS program. She is interested in signal processing and embedded systems, especially their applications in medicine. In this field she has done several internships working on glucose sensors at Medtronic and undergraduate research developing a PPG to detect vascular complications in pregnancy. Outside of school she enjoys hiking, cooking and exploring Atlanta with friends. This is her second semester as a GTA for ECE 3005, where she hopes to continue helping students develop their communication skills so that they are prepared for the academic and professional careers. As a GTA she likes to combine her professional experiences with technical writing, documentation and presentations with the course curriculum to provide meaningful and individualized feedback to students.
