Introduction
ECE 4007, Senior Design Project, is a team-oriented, culminating design project course that incorporates engineering standards and realistic constraints. The course provides senior ECE students with the skills necessary to address and solve open-ended design problems. Emphasis is placed on the design process and on reducing the proposed design to practice.
This is the fourth and final required communication-intensive course in the ECE curriculum. The course has both a lecture and lab component. ECE faculty and technical communication faculty co-teach the lectures and co-grade written work and presentations in order to provide students with feedback that will foster strong technical design and effective communication of complex technical material.
Collaboration between engineering and UPCP faculty ensures that graduating seniors are prepared for the rigors of the workplace, a workplace that requires engineers to have exceptional analytical and design skills and expects them to clearly and effectively communicate those skills. |
